there is a nasty rattle noise now. did i do something wrong. besides that, the car heats up just going around the block? i have a new thermostat, new water pump, new hoses, and fresh coolant. Now what??
I just changed my water pump and thermostat, but the car still heats up within a block? and it rattles/maxima?
did u try flushing the radiator out,go back check the hose, the fan, make sure it has antifreeze

water pump is shot.
It may be the water pump lost its impeller. The impeller is the rattle and therefore it is not circulating the coolant.the rad could be plugged as suggested earlier. The thermostat could be in back wards as suggested.Make sure system is bled properly and run it without the rad cap.If you keep seeing bubbles in the rad you have a blown head gasket , Good luck.
radiator is probably stopped up....remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop, they will flow test it for you...
There is a right way to put in a thermostat, I have put more then one in upside down. This kept it from opening because the pump pressure kept it closed.
The idea that the fans are not coming on is a good one.
Also check to see if the cap is working and is the right rating. If it is not letting off at the right pressure, the system will over heat.
Did you bleed the cooling system, or is there an air pocket in the head/s?
Check your spark plugs and wires as well as the timing if you can. Because these things can cause an engine to run hot if too far out. Also if one or more plugs are a lot different from the others it may indicate more serious problems (such as a bad head gasket or cracked head) that is letting combustion gasses escape into the water jacket and the opposite too.
Hope it is something simple.
First check your radiator.
Do this BUT PLEASE be careful.
drive the car till the temp; gauge reaches %26quot;Normal%26quot; running temp.
Stop the car ,switch OFF the engine ,remove the ign;keys.
Open the bonnet now be careful as it will be HOT.
On the radiator with your hand feel the temp of the %26quot;Top%26quot; tank and than feel the temp of the bottom tank.
If there is a noticeable difference in temp your radiator is partially blocked, this is what I suspect.
DON'T even try to clean the radiator with water or chemicals WOFTM.
The ONLY way to clear a radiator is to remove it from the car and send it to a Radiator Technican who will remove the top and bottom tanks and will brush clean each tube.
good luck.
clogged oil pump?
Its broken get rid by a new one
This happened to my car..and they crossed the hot water hose with the cold water hose..Also is your fan working to cool down the engine? you also might need a new radiator if not
