Car gets really hot in summer and dosent want to start?
These are two seperate issues.

First check.

When your car gets hot can you here the electric fan running? Sometimes these go out if your car is really hot it will stay on after you turn your car off usually only comes on when you run your A/C or when it's really hot.

Make sure you have enough coolant in your radiator (not just water) and Maybe flush the system if you get a lot of rust and other debris your radiator may be clogged. Or could need to be replaced.

Check the return hose that comes from your water pump it if it is not as hot or takes a longer to get hot than the hose that conects your radiator to your engine you may have a malfuctioning water pump.

Check your oil. If it looks milky (white or light brown) you probably have a blown head gasket. Or run your car with the cap off of the radiator if it goes up and down with the rythem of the motor again you are looking at a blown head gasket.

Did you test your thermostat before you installed it? You could also take it out and run your car to see if it still heats up. Don't drive around without it. Just enough to test it.

It not wanting to start could be this.

Starter

Fuel pump

Fuel lines

Fuel filter - replace anyway.

Carberator Adjustment or Floats - Fuel/Air mixture

Spark plugs

Battery

I'd have to hear and look at it. Really it could be so many things but these are basic. Hell it could even be the sensor that detects your temp that messed up or the gauge itself.

Does it over heat? And if the arrow is at the middle that shouldn be a problem as long as it doesn get to hot or overheat, also get yo gauges checked. And if it doesent wana start as good well the the starter checked out, I had a 93 saturn and had same problems the starters suck.
