Why do I have no heat it my 200sx?

I have recently changed my thermostat due to car overheating and once changed car ran fine. A few weeks later, a heater hose cracked and eventually split. After fixing the hose, I had no heat for a day then the heat started to work and then back to no heat again. Please HELP!!!

is the radiator full? i know it's probably a bad question but check anyway. next is the thermostat installed properly? do you smell antifreeze when heats on? if so check for leaks on pass. side ie: the heatercore. but i would flush system if all leaks are repaired sometimes after opening the cooling system for repair scale and deposits can clog lines and reduce efficiency try that good luck

air lock in the system
Yea sounds like air in the line check on your themostat housing there should be a bleeder screw at the top to let out the air with your car runing of course release it and tighten back up when coolant starts to leaks out. Air in the line causes hot spots like that among other things. Also do you get no heat at all, or do you get only windshielf defrost, if thats the case it could also be a vacuum or motor problem in your heater exchange.Longs your not over heating than it sounds like the themostat was installed correctly and if its the heater core you passanger floor would be wet. Good Luck
Sounds like there is an air lock in the coolant system. Try removing the top hose, push a garden hose in it and turn on the water.

Ja.
Sounds like an airlock in the system.

Try parking it up a steep hill or on some ramps. Start the engine and rev it to about 2000rpm,keep an eye on the water level and add some if it drops. When theres no more air it won't take any more water and everything is fine.

It may take a while but it works.
