Car has no heat and it is overheating?

1995 toyota 4-runner lost heat and then shortly after the car started to overheat. I changed the thermostat with no luck. Changed the radiator and then the water pump. Still have the same problem. There is no leak coming from the heater core. The head gasket was replaced in Nov 08. Is it possible there could be a blockage in the heater core?

The two things could possibly be unrelated...

I really would test the thermostat, or at least see if the hoses are getting hot after the thermostat housing just to make sure that the thermostat is opening. if it is opening, i would then suggest that you pressure test the system as well as the radiator cap.

My thoughts would be that perhaps the head gasket wasn't replaced properly.

might be heater coil
Try changing the radiator cap. It was loose. It worked on my Ford.
Well overheating has to do with how hot it is and how much you are pushing it for example if you ran your car through the desert your car would start heating up and begin overheating.
Overheating will cause no heat, believe it or not. It's possible the heater core is clogged up, but that wouldn't make the engine overheat unless it was leaking. If it starts leaking, it will do it on the passenger floorboard.

Sounds like you've changed everything in the cooling system except the heater core. Check your radiator cooling fan(s) to make sure they are cycling on and off. If they are working properly, there's a good chance the head gasket blew again. Check for coolant in the oil (white milky looking), oil in the coolant (usually can tell in the reservoir if it's blackish), and coolant burning through the exhaust (whitish smoke and steam constantly).

Hope this helps and good luck
OVER HEATING with NO HEAT, not only is a funny oxymoron but, means there's no coolant or a low coolant level in the radiator/cooling system. The heater works from the hot coolant. The engines hot because it's low on coolant. If it was overheating and full of coolant the heater would be working fantastic!
Could check the air compressor.
