heater core

It may be bad, but since you aren't leaking coolant it may be something else. I would check that, although, the heater core is a PAIN to get out.

touch the heater core hoses and see if they are hot if not then the heater core is plugged and needs flushed.
I've seen this before, it is a difficult problem but there is an easy fix for it. Ask any good auto mechanic in your area i am sure they can verify this as being an excellent fix.

Locate your car battery. Take the wires off of it, be careful when doing so. Then take a good sized piece of aluminum foil and touch it to both of the battery's terminals at the same time. There should be an increase in temperature, this indicates your heat is working again.
Abby is correct, I have done this multiple times on various vehicles. It just basicly 'resets the heat' in the car, its nothing too big, really.
