My 1991 Mercedes 300 sl was running hot. I changed the thermostat, water pump, but the car is still heating up

between 100 and 120 degrees. Since changing those items, I realized that the twin fans do not engage. What could be causing that problem?

If the fans are not turning on, the engine will tend to run hot. You should check your fan switch and relay. If your a/c is operational turn it on, you should see your fan motor turn on. Try checking your radiator cooling fins for grease and dirt. If you can't see through then, use a water hose to clean them.

Good Luck

fan switch. on most cars (not familiar with mercedes), when you turn the the key to acc., the fans should turn on. could be a fuse, too. a civic i used to have had the same problem and i replaced the fan with some cheap $80 one and it worked like a charm.
100 to 120 degrees? thats actually pretty cool for an engine. I beleive most thermostats dont even open until the 180 degree range(Farenhiet). Fans dont come on because they dont need to yet. But just in case I would call a mercedes dealer and talk to a mechanic.
akebhart is correct,

100 and 120 degrees is cool for a car. If these are the temperatures, you're fine. Typically 180-200 degrees is when the thermostat open.

I wouldn't expect the fans to turn on at this temperature, but a fan relay if your fans aren't turning on.
