i changed my coolant thermostat, but didnt work (teacher told me to do it)

i have new coolant too... and its filled up... also left the car idling for a while to take out the air bubbles after i changed the thermostat

Sounds like a bad electrical connection either at the sensor or where the engine harness plugs connect to the chassis harness.

The unit itself could be bad. You could trace the problem and start at the cooolant temperature sending unit to see it that is working. un do it and heat it up useing a lighter and see it the gauge goes up. if not then there's your problem
Its usually in the block or the radiator. Where the water flows,(water jacket)
